Integration and Maintenance
Check the cabinet hub board, connector pinout, LED driver IC and scan configuration before choosing a receiving card. Parallel and serial data-group counts describe output organization; they do not by themselves determine the usable cabinet pixel resolution.
The K8 supports configuration-parameter and calibration-coefficient redundancy, along with firmware redundancy and readback. It also supports firmware upgrades without a power restart and Ethernet cable status monitoring. These functions should be configured with the compatible controller, cabinet hardware and software.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Colorlight K8 a sending card or receiving card?
The K8 is a receiving card installed within an LED display system. It is used with a compatible sending controller and cabinet interface.
How many data groups does the K8 support?
It supports up to 32 parallel data groups or 64 serial data groups. Match the selected output mode to the cabinet hub board and LED module configuration.
Can I replace another receiving card with a K8 directly?
Do not assume it is a direct replacement based on appearance. Check connector pinout, hub-board compatibility, driver IC, scan settings, firmware and the existing cabinet configuration before replacing a card.
Does the K8 support per-pixel calibration and backup?
Yes. It supports brightness and chromaticity calibration per pixel, loop redundancy and dual receiving-card hot backup. The required system connections and settings must also be configured.
