The Colorlight Z6 Pro is a modular LED display controller that combines video processing, splicing and sending. Four 10G fiber outputs support up to 8,847,360 pixels in 8-bit 2D mode. It is designed for rental displays and high-resolution LED walls requiring multiple sources, adjustable PIP layers and fiber transmission.
Modular 4K inputs and screen composition
The chassis supports four input boards, with HDMI/DP, four-port DVI and four-port SDI board options. Select the board configuration for your source equipment; these options do not mean every input type is included. On each HDMI/DP board, only one of the HDMI and DP inputs operates at a time.
Up to 16 PIP layers can be positioned and resized. Source switching, cropping, scaling and splicing help arrange content across the display. HDR, 3D video/display support, low-latency processing and hue, saturation and contrast adjustments are also listed in the specification.
Z6 Pro specifications
The following values are from the linked Z6 PRO Specification V1.2.
| Parameter | Specification |

Output capacity by operating mode
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| 8-bit, 2D | 8,847,360 pixels |
| 8-bit, 3D | 4,423,680 pixels |
| 10-bit, 2D | 8,294,400 pixels |
| 10-bit, 3D | 4,147,200 pixels |
| Maximum width | 8,192 pixels |
| Maximum height | 4,096 pixels |
Width and height limits are separate from the total pixel limit. A proposed screen layout must satisfy both the dimensions and the pixel capacity for its selected bit depth and 2D or 3D mode.
Planning a Z6 Pro system
Before ordering, specify the source connectors, input board arrangement, LED wall resolution, output bit depth and 2D or 3D requirement. Check the fiber connection and receiving equipment for the planned system. The 3D emitter is optional; confirm the accessories needed for your installation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum pixel capacity of the Colorlight Z6 Pro?
The maximum is 8,847,360 pixels in 8-bit 2D mode. Capacity changes to 8,294,400 pixels in 10-bit 2D, 4,423,680 in 8-bit 3D and 4,147,200 in 10-bit 3D.
Does the Z6 Pro accept 4K at 60 Hz?
The HDMI/DP input board supports up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz in 8-bit. For 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz in 10-bit, V1.2 lists YCbCr 4:2:2 and 4:2:0. Match the source format to the selected board.
Can HDMI and DisplayPort work simultaneously on one input board?
No. V1.2 states that only one of the HDMI and DP inputs on an HDMI/DP board works at a time. The chassis supports four input boards.
How many PIP layers does the Z6 Pro support?
It supports up to 16 PIP layers with freely adjustable position and size, together with cropping, scaling, splicing and source switching.
Does the Z6 Pro support 3D LED displays?
Yes. It supports 3D video and display, with a 3D sync connection for an optional emitter. Use the reduced 3D pixel capacities when planning the screen and confirm the required accessories.
