Colorlight X8m LED Video Controller
The Colorlight X8m processes 4K and HD video sources and sends the configured image to an LED wall through eight Gigabit Ethernet outputs. Its maximum loading capacity is 5.24 million pixels at 8-bit, 60 Hz output. HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, multi-window layouts and USB media playback suit presentations and event displays with several content sources.

Inputs and Multi-Window Layouts
Use HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 for 4K input, and the four HDMI 1.4 inputs for HD sources. Window count depends on the source mix: the specification lists six HD layers, five layers with one 4K source plus four HD sources, or two layers with two 4K sources. Windows can overlap, move, resize and crop, with a minimum window size of 64 × 64 pixels.

| Power input | AC 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz |
Screen Planning and Playback
Calculate the cabinet pixel total and distribute the load across the eight outputs before setting up the canvas. Higher output frame rates reduce available loading capacity. The maximum width and height are separate limits and do not describe a full 16,384 × 8,192 output image.
The USB drive port plays supported video and image files. Playback resolution depends on the codec; check the format list in the specification before preparing a show file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Colorlight X8m support 4K input?
Yes. Its HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 inputs support up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz. The four HDMI 1.4 inputs support HD sources up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz.
How many pixels can the X8m control?
The specified total is up to 5.24 million pixels at 8-bit, 60 Hz. At 8-bit, the listed capacity drops to 2.62 million pixels at 120 Hz and 1.31 million pixels at 240 Hz.
Can the X8m show six 4K windows at once?
No. The maximum six-window layout is for HD sources. The specification lists five layers for one 4K plus four HD sources, or two layers for two 4K sources.
Can the X8m play files from a USB drive?
Yes. It supports USB video and image playback from NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT drives. Use a supported container, codec and resolution as listed in the downloadable specification.
