The Colorlight X40m is a 4K LED video controller with a maximum loading capacity of 26.21 million pixels. It provides 40 Gigabit Ethernet outputs and four 10G optical outputs, with HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 inputs for video up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz.
Choose Ethernet or optical output
The X40m supports either Ethernet output or optical output; the two output modes cannot be used at the same time. The four optical ports correspond to Ethernet port groups 1–10, 11–20, 21–30 and 31–40. The specification lists compatible 10G single-mode optical modules as a separate purchase.
Multi-window layouts and scene recall
Up to six windows are available, with one layer per window. The number depends on the input combination: one 4K source can be used with four 2K sources for five windows, while two 4K sources allow two windows. Windows can be moved, scaled and cropped, with a minimum size of 64 × 64 pixels.
Save and recall up to 128 scenes, play photos or videos from a USB drive, and adjust brightness and color temperature. Precision color management requires a compatible receiving card. 3D display is purchased separately, and OSD is optional.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pixels can the Colorlight X40m control?
Its maximum loading capacity is 26.21 million pixels. Select the output mode and cabinet layout to match the screen design.
Can X40m Ethernet and fiber outputs operate simultaneously?
No. The V1.1 specification states that Ethernet and optical outputs cannot be used at the same time. Choose 40 Gigabit Ethernet outputs or four 10G optical outputs.
How many windows can X40m display with 4K sources?
One 4K source plus four 2K sources supports five windows. With two 4K sources, only two windows can be opened. The general maximum is six windows, depending on the input combination.
Can the X40m play video from a USB drive?
Yes. The USB 3.0 U-disk interface supports photo and video playback, as well as program upgrades. Refer to the specification PDF for supported file formats.
Are 3D and optical modules included as standard?
The specification identifies 3D as a separate purchase and lists 10G single-mode optical modules as purchased separately. Confirm these items when selecting the configuration.
