Colorlight OP1 Fiber Optic Transceiver
The Colorlight OP1 converts between twisted-pair Ethernet and optical Ethernet signals. It has an SC optical interface and one 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 port. The V1.1 specification lists a 10 km transmission distance over SC single-mode fiber, making the OP1 an option for extending a compatible control-system connection beyond the copper cable run.
Link monitoring and operating controls
Front-panel LEDs indicate link activity, speed, duplex mode and power status. Rear DIP switches control link-fault alarm (LFP), storm suppression, forced 100 Mb/s optical operation and forced 100 Mb/s Ethernet operation. Match these settings to the connected equipment.
The compact unit uses a DC 5 V supply. Its specification includes port and power surge protection, electromagnetic-interference protection and a wide operating temperature range. These ratings do not establish an outdoor weatherproof enclosure rating.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far can the Colorlight OP1 transmit over fiber?
The V1.1 specification lists 10 km over SC single-mode fiber. The copper connection is specified for CAT5e cable up to 100 m.
Does the OP1 use LC or SC fiber connectors?
The OP1 specification identifies an SC optical interface. Check the connector type when selecting the fiber cable.
What Ethernet speeds does the OP1 support?
Its RJ45 port supports 10/100/1000BASE-T. The rear DIP switches include a forced 100 Mb/s Ethernet setting.
What power supply does the OP1 require?
The specification lists DC 5 V, 1 A, with power consumption of no more than 1.6 W.
What do the OP1 status LEDs show?
The indicators show connection speed, optical and Ethernet link activity, duplex mode and power status. They help distinguish a disconnected link from a powered, active connection.
